SPECIMEN AND COLLECTION REQUIREMENTS:

CAUSES FOR REJECTION:  Improperly labeled specimen; frozen, on ice, or refrigerated; contaminated isolates; raw specimen

STORAGE:  Room temperature

USES:  Identification or confirmation of a positive bacterial culture.  This test is NOT intended as a primary culture service

NORMAL VALUES:  Species identification

METHOD:  

DESCRIPTION AND COMMENTS:  When a submitting MTF has an isolate it cannot identify, this is the proper test to request when forwarding the specimen to the DPALS-LRMC for identification
